Halloween is just around the corner and for some parents, this can be a scary time. To make sure your little monsters stay safe in our Garland community this Halloween, here are a few tips on trick or treat safety.
Plan Your Garland Route
Are you familiar with the Garland community? If not, it’s always a good idea to plan out your route with the kids before heading out for some trick or treat fun! Whether you want to stay close to home or venture into other areas, it’s essential to plan ahead.
Check Your Child’s Candy
This may seem too OCD but parents, you should ALWAYS check your child’s candy. It doesn’t take much time but it’s a necessary step. Regardless of whether your child’s candy was from your church, a house, or a special Halloween event, you should always double check that the candy is safe.
Make Sure You’re Visible
While Halloween may be a time when we dress in dark and scary costumes, you still want to make sure that you can be seen to avoid accidents. Make sure you’re visible by adding reflective tape to your child’s costume and carry a flashlight. While the Garland community is normally a very safe place for pedestrians, you can never be too safe.
We hope you have a great Halloween in the Garland community and hope that you use these trick or treat safety tips to make it as safe as it is fun.
